Mediterranean Yacht Charter Shows 2026: What We Saw, What It Means for You

Following an intensive spring schedule across the Mediterranean, the Contact Yachts team has successfully completed visits to three of the industry’s most important charter shows, including MYBA Charter Show in Sanremo, Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) in Nafplio, and TYBA Yacht Charter Show in Marmaris.

Over the course of these events, we personally inspected more than 100 yachts available for charter across the Mediterranean, met with dozens of captains and crews, and evaluated every detail that truly defines a seamless charter experience.

A Strong Season Ahead

The 2026 season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent years. Across all three shows, one thing was clear: the Mediterranean fleet continues to evolve at an impressive pace. We have seen a significant number of new yachts entering the market, alongside extensive refits on already established favorites. From sleek motor yachts to elegant sailing yachts and beautifully maintained gulets, the diversity and quality of options available to charterers has never been stronger.

Equally important and often underestimated is the level of crew we encountered. Exceptional service remains the defining factor of any yacht charter, and this year we were particularly impressed by the professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail demonstrated by many teams on board.

First-Hand Knowledge That Matters

Attending charter shows is not just about viewing yachts, it is about building real, up-to-date knowledge. Every yacht we step on, every crew we meet, and every detail we assess allows us to make highly tailored recommendations to our clients. Photos and brochures can never replace first-hand experience. Understanding how a yacht feels, how a crew interacts, and how well a vessel is maintained is what allows us to match each client with the right yacht, not just a good one, but the right one.

This is especially important in a market where the best yachts and prime summer dates are often secured many months in advance.

Mediterranean Yacht Charter Destinations: Where to Go in 2026

Choosing the right destination is just as important as selecting the yacht itself. Following our recent inspections and meetings across the Mediterranean, here is our updated overview of the region’s key charter countries, each offering a distinct experience on the water.

Italy: Culture, Cuisine & Iconic Coastlines

Italy remains one of the most sought-after yacht charter destinations in the world — and for good reason. From the dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi Coast to the glamour of Capri and the elegance of Portofino, every stop feels cinematic.

For those seeking a mix of natural beauty and vibrant nightlife, Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda stands out with its turquoise waters and stylish beach clubs. Italy is ideal for clients who value world-class cuisine, cultural depth, and a lively onshore scene alongside their time at sea.

France: Riviera Glamour & Effortless Luxury

The South of France offers a refined and social charter experience centered around Monaco, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez. This is where yachting meets high fashion, beach clubs, and a dynamic summer atmosphere. The cruising distances are short, making it perfect for clients who enjoy a mix of relaxation and vibrant nightlife. The French Riviera is particularly well suited for first-time charterers or those looking for a glamorous, event-driven escape.

Greece: Island-Hopping at Its Finest

Greece offers unmatched variety, with multiple island groups each delivering a different style of charter. The Cyclades are known for their iconic white architecture and lively energy, while the Ionian Islands provide greener landscapes and calmer waters, ideal for relaxed cruising. The Dodecanese and Saronic Gulf offer more off-the-beaten-path experiences. It is a destination that suits both seasoned charterers and first-time guests, especially those looking for authentic charm, scenic diversity, and excellent value.

Türkiye: Authenticity, Space & Exceptional Value

Türkiye continues to be one of the most compelling destinations in the Mediterranean, particularly along the Turquoise Coast from Bodrum to Göcek and Marmaris. Wide bays, pine-covered hills, and crystal-clear waters create a sense of space and privacy that is increasingly rare. The region is especially known for its high-quality gulets and excellent crew hospitality. For clients seeking a relaxed, nature-focused charter with outstanding service and value, Türkiye remains a standout choice.

Croatia: A Rising Star of the Adriatic

Croatia has firmly established itself as one of the Mediterranean’s top charter destinations. Its long coastline, dotted with historic towns and over a thousand islands, is ideal for exploration by yacht. Destinations such as Dubrovnik, Hvar, and Split combine cultural heritage with a modern, lively atmosphere. The relatively short cruising distances and well-developed infrastructure make Croatia a very practical and enjoyable choice. Demand continues to grow each year, making early booking essential for the best yachts and peak summer dates.
